This drawing represents the interest I have in nature around me. It is a drawing of a fallen sabal palmetto frond. The sabal palm is Florida's state tree.

Trudy.. I'm studying both the natural and social history of cabbage palms, so I am interested in how they appear in art. Your drawing captures some of the casual disorder that can occur, while other artists sometimes try to impose order and generally neaten things up.

Oh yes... Sabal palmetto is one of my favorite subjects because of their interesting disorder and texture they have.
